Karen M. Richardson is the Executive Director of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). An attorney by training, Karen has over 10 years of experience serving NAWL and brings deep institutional knowledge to her role. With a focus on strategic and innovative leadership, Karen has fostered sustainable growth for NAWL. Under her guidance, NAWL has flourished, marked by successful development and initiatives, even amidst challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.


Karen oversees all aspects of NAWL's operations, including finance and sponsorship, brand management, membership and volunteer engagement, HR and risk management, and strategic planning. Her dedication to NAWL's mission is palpable, as she continues to uphold and expand upon its 125-year legacy of advancing women in the legal profession and advocating for gender equity under the law. 


Beyond her professional commitments, Karen is an active member of her community, serving on the Board of Trustees for an independent school. Currently residing in northern Vermont, she enjoys spending quality time skiing and hiking with her family. Karen earned both her J.D. and B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.
