The Transformative Leadership Awards Dinner
Dear NAWL Supporter,
In this time of uncertainty about the long-term viability of the traditional law firm business model one thing is crystal clear: Law firms must find more innovative ways to price and deliver their services and, more importantly, must do a better job of developing all of their lawyers, especially women. Progress in these areas will not accelerate until women are represented in substantial numbers on the key committees that determines the firms’ success.

The Pro Bono Partnership is honoring NAWL member, Amy Festante as one of their Volunteers of the Year for 2009. Amy has helped many clients over the past year, most with leasing concerns or lease reviews in New Jersey. Amy enjoys volunteering with the Partnership, noting that "Volunteering with PBP is extremely valuable to me in the sense that my involvement and responsibility in these matters go beyond my involvement and responsibility in other matters. With Pro Bono I have the opportunity to oversee the entire matter and I work on it from beginning to end. The experience allows me to develop into a more well-rounded attorney."
Senior Staff Attorney at the Pro Bono Partnership and fellow NAWL member, Christine Michelle Duffy, notes that "Amy has been a joy to work with, dispatches projects promptly, and showed an immediate interest in working with us."
Amy first met Christine at the NAWL’s Night of Giving at the FoodBank of New Jersey. Soon after, Amy quickly became a great volunteer to Pro Bono Partnership for the past year.

NAWL member Lisa King Ackley of Walsworth, Franklin, Bevins & McCall is co-chairing HarrisMartin's acclaimed two-day Asbestos Mock Trial Conference, titled Trial of a Take-Home Exposure Case from Jury Selection to Verdict .
