In every organization, you need to understand the organization and its culture to obtain the next role and succeed in it. This panel will discuss how understanding organizations and their priorities and values can help you develop, improve your brand, and get to the next level. It will also discuss how expectations and roles may change with each promotion and after each promotion—what got you here may not get you there. For example, for in-house attorneys the expectations change at each level. For outside counsel, if you are a non-equity partner, how do you get to equity partner status, get a seat on a critical committee, or run the department.
