Follow Us On

NAWL’s 15th annual General Counsel Institute will celebrate our Strength In Numbers. We are inspired by important milestones happening the world over:

  • 100-year anniversary of American women's right to vote;
  • U.S. Women’s Soccer Team is again the World Champion and using their voice to demand equal pay;
  • Women led productions are breaking box office and ratings records;
  • Every S&P 500 company now has at least one woman board member;
  • Multiple women are seeking this nation’s highest office;
  • And the European Union Commission is led by its first female President.

These milestones are the work not of one person acting alone, but of dedicated, passionate, and resilient women and their allies taking action to ignite real and lasting progress. Although bold strides have been made, challenges remain: the gender pay gap continues; new barriers have emerged in response to #metoo; and the number of female equity partners remains stagnant. Despite this, we know that when we work together, positive momentum will accelerate.

The GCI 15 program will celebrate the progress of the last 15 years and provide participants opportunities to reflect, strengthen substantive knowledge, gain insights into the challenges that continue, and offer strategies to break through barriers. The rich and diverse program includes plenary sessions featuring General Counsels of major corporations, expert led workshops on cutting-edge legal issues and tactical strategies, personal stories of resilience, executive coaching, and opportunities for networking. At our new location in the NYC Financial District, just steps from where the “Fearless Girl” faced down Wall Street, GCI 15 will fuel participants with fresh perspectives, motivating us to take on new and sometimes persistent challenges, and create and inspire action in our personal and professional communities, confident that we have Strength In Numbers.
