Leah Bruno is the Managing Partner of Dentons’ Chicago office. A member of the firm’s Litigation and Disputes practice group, she has extensive litigation experience in a wide variety of commercial disputes across multiple industries. In addition to litigating intellectual property and false advertising matters, she has handled the defense of consumer and insurance class actions at both the state and federal levels around the country. Her approach to litigation is both pragmatic and client-focused. She takes the time to understand her clients’ objectives before developing a strategy to achieve the best result. Whether that result is a favorable trial verdict, a dispositive motion, or an out-of-court resolution, she has the experience and judgment to navigate her clients to an optimal resolution.
Leah’s practice has included a wide array of subject matter and industries. This variety has provided her exposure to the nuances of local practices in various jurisdictions and given her the experience of navigating complex discovery matters in high exposure litigation. She has engaged in extensive motion practice in the course of discovery and coordinated all aspects of broad-ranging nationwide discovery, including e-discovery issues and compliance. Her experience also includes drafting and preparing briefs for all levels of state and federal appellate courts, including the US Supreme Court.
Leah also understands that trial can be a costly and even an undesirable endeavor for some clients. Accordingly, she has counseled many clients to successful alternative dispute resolution (ADR) paths, including mediation, arbitration, and out-of-court negotiations. She has successfully handled matters at JAMS, AAA, the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau (NAD) and the Trademark Trial And Appeal Board of the US Patent and Trademark Office (TTAB).
