Maha Jafarey is a Senior Corporate Counsel at Microsoft and an experienced legal leader with 14 years of experience spanning private practice and in-house roles at nonprofit and for-profit organizations. She advises Microsoft 365 and Azure teams on complex legal, privacy, compliance, and regulatory matters, focusing on data protection, AI governance, data residency, product compliance, and emerging global regulations. By shaping legal strategy and partnering with product and engineering leaders, Maha helps enable responsible innovation and the global deployment of trusted technologies at scale.

Through her pro bono practice, Maha also advises nonprofit organizations on compliance with federal and state nonprofit and corporate laws. She is deeply committed to mentorship, inclusion, and community engagement and has spent more than a decade mentoring aspiring legal professionals, particularly students from underrepresented backgrounds, helping them navigate educational and career pathways into the legal profession.
