Mary T. Costigan is a principal with Jackson Lewis, P.C. and a member of the firm’s Privacy, AI & Cybersecurity practice group. She holds Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Mary has broad experience advising clients on federal, state, and international privacy and security regulations, data protection best practices, and AI governance. She regularly handles matters related to employee and consumer privacy, biometric data, artificial intelligence, EU data protection requirements, and cross-border data transfers. With extensive experience as a breach coach, Mary provides clients with strategic counsel on cybersecurity incidents and related regulatory inquiries.

Mary is co-leader of L&E Global’s Data Protection & AI Group, a member of the IAPP Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board, and serves as co-chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers Privacy and Cybersecurity Affinity Group. Her work has been recognized by Lawdragon “500 Leading Global Cyber Lawyers”, The Best Lawyers in America® in the “Privacy and Data Security Law” category, as well as with a Lexology Client Choice Award.
