Melinda (“Mel”) Lewis is the Associate General Counsel and Data Protection Officer for Serco Inc., a global services company specializing in professional, technology, and management services to government and commercial customers worldwide.  Ms. Lewis serves as the company’s legal expert for all cybersecurity, data privacy, and data governance issues. In addition to building the company’s data governance program, Ms. Lewis also chairs Serco’s Data Governance Board, which vets and approves AI-related projects and initiatives. 

Ms. Lewis earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in both the U.S. and Europe as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
