Rashda M. Buttar is a strategic board and executive advisor, strategist, chief legal officer/general counsel, and corporate secretary for companies across energy, critical minerals, technology, data, and emerging growth sectors navigating the transition from founder-led or PE-owned through IPO. She serves as a multifunctional executive partner to CEOs and boards navigating scale, capital formation, governance transformation, people, and existential risk. From 2021-2025, she was the Chief Legal & Administrative Officer of Novonix Limited. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President - General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Foresight Energy LP from 2011 to 2017, Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Patriot Coal Corporation from 2007 to 2011, and Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of TALX Corporation from 2003 to 2007. Rashda received her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies and Political Science from Saint Louis University. Her debut novel, published under her nickname Sonny Buttar, is scheduled for release on November 1.
