Vickie S. Robinson, Esq. is a General Manager in the Energy, Connectivity, and Sustainability Group at Microsoft, where she leads the Sustainable and Connected Communities team. In this capacity, Vickie drives the integration of Microsoft’s Connectivity and Water Positive initiatives, shaping the company’s global strategy to advance digital inclusion and sustainability. Her work centers on forging innovative partnerships and delivering scalable solutions that pair digital connectivity with energy and water initiatives, empowering underserved communities worldwide.
Vickie joined Microsoft in 2018 after nearly two decades of public service at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where she held multiple leadership roles, including Acting CEO and General Counsel of the Universal Service Administrative Co. Her tenure at the FCC was marked by a deep commitment to universal broadband access, advising senior leadership on policy development and implementation to expand connectivity across the United States.
Under Vickie’s leadership, the Airband Initiative has extended internet connectivity to over 100 million people around the world, bringing the power of digital access and technology to communities previously left on the wrong side of the digital divide. She has played a pivotal role in shaping Microsoft’s connectivity vision, with a focus on long-term impact and measurable outcomes for communities.
A passionate advocate for inclusion and opportunity, Vickie serves as an Executive Sponsor for Howard University and sits on the Board of Public Knowledge, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting freedom of expression and access to affordable communications tools. She has also served as an adjunct instructor at Howard University School of Law and co-founded The Initiative: Advancing the Blue and Black Partnership, which fosters positive engagement between law enforcement and communities of color.
Vickie holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Howard University, both earned magna cum laude. She resides in Mitchellville, Maryland, with her husband and twins.
