When asked to reflect on her proudest moments, Rebecca Williford wrote:
“As a woman and wheelchair-user, I know how identity shapes our experiences when it comes to opportunities and discrimination. As President & CEO of Disability Rights Advocates, I’m proud of all that we do to advance equality through impact litigation. In one case on behalf of more than 900,000 people with disabilities in New York, we compelled the city to develop life-saving disaster plans. Our cases protect lives, livelihoods, and ensure equity for people with disabilities nation-wide. I’m also deeply grateful to the community of disabled women lawyers who’ve mentored me as we work to clear a stronger path for the next generation.”
