“I am incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Outstanding Law Student Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers. My commitment to the advancement of women in society and within the legal profession is deeply rooted in my identity as a Palestinian woman and the child of immigrants. I was raised surrounded by strong, resilient women who shaped my understanding of leadership, sacrifice, and community, and I have sought to carry that foundation into my academic and professional work. Serving as President of the Atlanta's John Marshall Law School National Lawyers Guild chapter allowed me to not only advocate for some of the most pressing causes of our time, including issues that disproportionately impact women, especially those in marginalized communities both locally and abroad, but also to help create opportunities for growth, leadership, and empowerment for the women alongside me. I am deeply grateful to my professors, advisors, mentors, family, and friends who have supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. After taking the bar exam, I plan to pursue a career in civil and human rights advocacy grounded in community, justice, and purpose. Thank you.”
