EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Karen M. Richardson is the Executive Director of the National Association of Women Lawyers. As such, she manages the strategic direction and operations of the organization, including finance and sponsorship, brand management, membership and volunteer engagement, the HR and risk management functions, and the development and implementation of the strategic plan. Karen has a passion for NAWL’s mission and will continue and expand on its 120-year legacy, leading its continued efforts to advance diversity and inclusion in the profession and expanding our advocacy in the areas of judicial representation and gender rights. Karen served as NAWL's long-time program director and before rejoining NAWL in 2019, was a business development coach for a mid-sized, full-service law firm in Chicago. Karen currently lives in northern Vermont and spends most of her free time skiing and hiking with her family. PROGRAM MANAGER
Chelsea Robinson is the Program Manager at the National Association of Women Lawyers. As such, she works with a group of talented and passionate lawyer volunteers to plan and execute large scale conferences including NAWL's Annual Meeting, Mid-Year Meeting, and General Counsel Institute, which incorporate continuing legal education, networking opportunities, and leadership development for thousands of members. Prior to joining NAWL, Ms. Robinson spent 6 years as the director of events for The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. Ms. Robinson received her B.S. from Florida Gulf Coast University. MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
Helena B. Rogers is the Membership Engagement Manager at the National Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Rogers leads the strategic planning, project management, and execution of NAWL’s membership outreach and engagement work. She is responsible for ensuring that all members of NAWL are fully engaged through its Practice Area Affinity Groups, Book Club, and other opportunities. She is also responsible for leading the Membership and Mentorship committees. Ms. Rogers graduated from North Park University with a degree in Business Administration. PUBLICATIONS MANAGER
Isabell Retamoza is the National Association of Women Lawyers' publications manager. Isabell is responsible for NAWL marketing in coordination with the NAWL Marketing & Communications Committee. Isabell is also responsible for the publication, marketing, and archive of the Women Lawyers Journal, the NAWL Survey, the work of the NAWL Advocacy Committee, and the NAWL podcast. Isabell also plans and executes standalone virtual events [e.g. Sip & Learn and Conversations on Change]. As well as, supporting larger events in coordination with the Program Manager. Though in the early stage of her career, Isabell joins NAWL with a strong customer service background, nonprofit experience, and a passion for empowering women and people of color. DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Stefanie Skaggs is the Development Manager at the National Association of Women Lawyers. Joining NAWL in September 2022, she works with NAWL’s Sustaining Sponsors, who invest in every aspect of our mission and programming, and our Event Sponsors, who create professional and business development spaces and elevate programming content. Before joining NAWL, Stefanie worked for The World’s Big Sleep Out, Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, and All Chicago Making Homelessness History. OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Devon Payne is the Operations Coordinator at the National Association of Women Lawyers. Devon supports the NAWL team by handling a variety of tasks to ensure that all interactions between the organization and others are positive and productive. She enjoys finding creative ways to assist NAWL members, sponsors, and staff, and to keep everything organized behind the scenes. In her free time, she enjoys trying new vegetarian recipes, playing board games, and creating paintings and collages.
